What this tool does not do.

It does not query ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or Gemini, and it does not report what they say about you. Those answers shift constantly and cost money to pull. We grade the upstream signals that determine whether an engine can cite you at all. Fix the gaps here and you become eligible to be cited. That is the part you control.

What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?+

GEO is structuring your site so AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini cite your brand as the source in the answers they give buyers. Where SEO optimizes for search-engine rankings, GEO optimizes for citation inside AI-generated responses: schema, citable claims with quantifiable data, comparison-friendly formatting and clear definitions near the top of a page.

What is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?+

AEO is the same idea framed around answer engines: making your content the thing an AI answer quotes and links. In practice GEO and AEO overlap heavily; this diagnostic grades the signals both depend on, on your live domain.

Does this actually ask ChatGPT about my brand?+

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Querying ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini per brand costs real money and is non-deterministic, the answer changes between runs. Instead we audit the upstream signals those engines weight when deciding whether to cite you. Pass the signals and the citation rate follows. This is the honest, repeatable version.

How is the score measured?+

We fetch your domain root plus its robots.txt and llms.txt, then grade eight citability signals (schema, AggregateRating, named reviews, AI-bot access, llms.txt, Open Graph, canonical, meta description) and roll them into a 0-100 readiness score with per-signal pass / gap evidence. It samples your domain root, so read it as a directional signal rather than an exhaustive crawl.

What do I enter?+

Your brand domain, for example yourbrand.com. You can paste a full URL too; we reduce it to the origin.

Does it need an AI key?+

No. The signal grade is deterministic and always shown. If the deployment has an Anthropic key set you also get a short plain-English summary written from those same signals; without it, the signal grade is the full report.

Is it really free?+

Can I share the results?+

Yes, the report renders in-page so you can screenshot or send it to whoever owns your storefront and head tags.
